The 10 Commandments Series: Thy Shall Have No Other Gods Before Me

Read: Exodus 20:2-3 
  
The above commandment is the first and an important commandment. If you do not follow this commandment then obeying the rest of the commandments is of no use. God made this commandment because he is a Jealous God and he wants us to worship him alone.

If we see in the story of Daniel. God was jealous that all the people are worshipping the king not him. It was God's plan to put Daniel in the lion's den and when he comes out the people will know that Yahweh had saved him from the hungry lions. Then the king had announced that no one will worship him (the king) but they must worship Daniel's God (Yahweh).

All other gods whom non-believers believe are created by we humans and they are powerless. God proves this thing in Exodus 7 till 11 which is of the ten plagues and each of these plagues was to challenge the different gods of Egypt like Ra, Seth, Amun, etc. and these fake gods could not do anything to save there people and were proved powerless.

God changes every non-believer's hearts each and every day to him. Through his miracles, visions and prophecies. We as believers of Christ should not follow any false Gods. But, we as believers should follow our God who is in heaven alone.

We must also remember that sometimes God uses us to transform other's life. Sometimes it might be hard, but we must remember that if God has chosen us for that work then He will be with us, guiding us and protecting us throughout the time. The adversary is always looking for a chance to change your thoughts about God but be Still and Firm and Belive that your Father in Heaven is the One and Only True God. Amen & God Bless You All!!!
